That Little Band From Texas
No, not ZZ top, but Explosions in the Sky. You'll have heard of them if you've seen the movie Friday Night Lights. This is my favorite and probably their most well known song- http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YLlYQQrHmh8. I haven't had a chance to see them live, but I've heard that the show is great. They normally play smaller venues, which, at least in my personal opinion, is a very positive thing due to price and the fact that you are right there with the band.
Most of the Explosions songs are caracterized by a melody and chord progression that flow very well together and repeat in different forms throughout the song. Also, the drummer, Chris Hrasky, is very talented and not stereotypical in the least. If you're into post-rock/instrumental, you'll love Explosions in the Sky. And heck, even if you aren't give them a listen, it's worth it.
Your Hand in Mine can be found on their latest album The Earth Is Not A Cold Dead Place. It's an extremely well done album and I highly recommend it if you're into instrumental post-rock (or just good music in general.)
